Trundle: Derby Game Is Perfect Stage For Sinclair

Lee Trundle says Sunday's derby match against Cardiff City is the perfect stage for Scott Sinclair to become an even bigger favourite amongst the fans.

The former striker, now plying his trade at Neath, has told the press how impressed he's been with Sinclair since he joined the Swans in August for £500,000.

Trundle was a hugely popular figure amongst the Jack supporters for his goals, personality and his exciting play, and the scouser believes that Sinclair can do the same - and what better way than to help his new team to a win away at Cardiff City on Sunday!

Sinclair has quickly become a favourite amongst the fans, despite only being with the club for 3 months. He's already scored 11 goals, but not only that he's entertained us with his pace and skill on the wing.

Trundle says he's the sort of player you'd pay money to watch, and he's almost 'unplayable' because of his goalscoring ability, skill and lightning pace:

"He`s a real asset,"

"Everything about him has really impressed me. His touch is superb and then you`ve got that pace - he is just quality.

"Then you`ve got the fact he`s already got 11 goals to his name. That`s impressive in itself but when you consider most of his work is out wide it says something.

"His speed is something that stands out but it`s his touch and awareness that puts him into the right areas and then he has the ability to beat defenders.

"When you add that pace on top then he`s almost unplayable."

Sinclair has yet to play in a game as big as the South Wales derby and he himself has admitted that he doesn't know how it'll feel to be involved in one until he does, but lots of people have said how much it means to the fans.

Trundle added:

"He`s the type of player you`d pay money to go and watch,"

"For me, that`s what football`s about and he`s someone who excites you when he goes past people.

"You`re always going to get the fans behind you when you score goals but it`s the way he`s playing that makes him a bit special.

"I was always appreciative of the support I got at Swansea when I tried to be a bit different.

But if he does it in the derby then he`ll be a real hero - and I`ll be cheering as much as anyone."

"It`s the perfect stage for him,"

"Everyone will have noticed how he`s started and taken a few of the headlines but in such a big game and with it being televised then he can really show what he`s made of on Sunday.

"He`s settled in brilliantly but I think there`s more to come from him and he`s got a great chance to show that.

I`m sure the other lads in the team have been telling him what the game means to the supporters and being in the city he`ll have already been caught up in how important it is to both sides - even more so now with where the two teams are in the table.

"But players like him shine on the big stage and I`m sure he`ll do the same, hopefully with a couple of goals."
