Pratley & Bothroyd To Miss South Wales Derby

Pratley & Bothroyd To Miss South Wales Derby

Darren Pratley and Jay Bothroyd will both miss Sunday's South Wales derby match as they serve 1-match suspensions for picking up their 5th bookings of the season.

Both the Swans and the Bluebirds won yesterday, but the only blow for both sides as that they will be missing a key first team player for next weekend's big game at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Pratley was booked with just 9 minutes remaining of yesterday's 3-0 win at Crystal Palace, and Swans fans have questioned why Rodgers didn't substitute him earlier with the game safely won.

Rodgers thought it was a harsh booking for Pratley:

"I thought it was a very, very harsh booking,"

"At that point of the game when the game is dead, the referee could very, very easily award the free kick and no-one would say anything.

"We're very disappointed for Darren because he's been outstanding this season."

Bothroyd's absence is good news for the Swans, as he is our rivals' top scorer, with 12 goals in all competitions, 10 of which were scored in the League.

They still have Chopra available though, and he did the damage back in April, scoring in the 90th minute to give them a 2-1 win.

Rodgers looks set to be boosted with the news that Kemy Agustien is back in training tomorrow after picking up a knock during Tuesday's Cup defeat at Wigan Athletic. The Dutch midfielder will be hoping that he gets the nod to replace Pratley on Sunday.
