Emnes Likely To Return To Middlesbrough

Marvin Emnes says he expects to return to Middlesbrough after his one-month loan spell ends at Swansea City.

A change of circumstances at the Riverside Stadium doesn't help our attempts to sign Emnes permanently as their new manager, yet to be appointed, may like to keep Emnes in the squad.

The winger was previously out of favour with Middlesbrough's former manager Gordon Strachan, which benefited the Swans and our attempts to sign Emnes on a permanent transfer.

Emnes said:

Lots of things are going on,'

'I am here for a month, but things are different at Middlesbrough now so I'm not sure what is happening.

'I have spoken to a few people at Middlesbrough since Strachan went, some players and some staff.

'They said lots of things to me so I have to wait and see what happens. I have to wait and see who the new manager is up there.

'I don't want to say too much about it, but it looks like I might go back there.

'I think I have made a point with a goal and assist on my debut.

'That's the sort of thing Middlesbrough need, so that's a good thing.

'But I'm enjoying my time at Swansea so far and I will keep doing that.'

Emnes had a debut to remember on Saturday as he scored 1 and made another as he helped the Swans to a 2-0 home win against Leicester City.

He added:

'It was a dream for me,'

'I wanted to help the team and I am happy that I was able to do that.

'I said that I needed to play games — I need to enjoy myself — so I was happy to get a chance.

'Hopefully I can get a few more games and carry on helping the team.'

Middlesbrough have given him permission to play in Tuesday night's Carling Cup 4th round tie at Wigan Athletic.
