Emnes Pleased With Debut Goal

Marvin Emnes was obviously very pleased to score on his debut as he helped the Swans beat Leicester City yesterday at the Liberty Stadium.

The Middlesbrough player is on a month's loan and it took him less than five minutes to make an impact after he came on at the start of the second half.

He used his pace and strength to race forward on goal before firing the ball in to give us a 1-0 lead against Sven Goran Eriksson's side.

Emnes said:

'My first goal in my first game helped us take the three points and I think I made the fans happy,'

'I was pleased to come on and hopefully I can do more of the same or Swansea.'

'The manager told me to go and enjoy myself as a central striker and I did,' he said after his debut.

'He wanted me to use my pace and power and score goals and I tried to help the team. It was a hard game but we played the best and kept the ball well.

'I was pleased with my goal, it was a good strike.'

Emnes also said his 1-month loan could be extended:

'If I can play more games here then why not stay longer - I just want to enjoy myself.

'Swansea have a very strong team and deserve to be third but whether I stay is up to Middlesbrough and if Swansea want me to stay.'
