Rodgers Thanks Reading Fans For Support
Brendan Rodgers said thanks to the Reading fans for their support during yesterday's game, which the Swans won 1-0 at the Madesjki Stadium.
The Swansea City manager returned to his former club and enjoyed his second away win of the season thanks to Scott Sinclair's first half strike, which puts us up to 4th in the Championship table.
'I want to put on record a big thank you to the Reading supporters who were chanting my name,'
'A sacked manager coming back to his old club doesn't usually get that welcome and it meant a lot to me.
'There were mixed emotions. Reading was the right club but it just didn't happen for me. It was the wrong time. Steve Coppell had gone and if we had started better it might have been different. At the time I left we were improving.
'I had a cuddle with chairman Sir John Madejski who came in to see me before the game. We had a great relationship and he is a good man.'
'I knew Reading would come out strong at the start of the second half but we always looked like we were going to score goals and had the opportunity to put it to bed.'
The Swans now host table toppers QPR on Tuesday night which is expected to be a very entertaining game between two good footballing sides.
