Williams' Reaction To Another Wales Defeat

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams shares his thoughts on Wales' defeat last night against Bulgaria.

Brian Flynn was in charge of his first Welsh international yesterday evening at the Cardiff City Stadium as he looks to take the job permanently, but he was denied the best possible start to his management spell as Popov's second half strike was enough to win Bulgaria the Euro-2012 qualifier match.

Former Swansea City manager Brian Flynn gave Williams the captain's armband for the game as current skipper Craig Bellamy was absent.

Williams was obviously disappointed with the defeat but insists we must bounce back when we travel to Switzerland on Tuesday:

'We have worked well all week and I wouldn't like to say we just let him down.

'We have probably let ourselves and everyone involved down, not just him.

'We would have liked to have got a win for him to repay him for the week we've had. We've thoroughly enjoyed it.

'We were desperate to get a win and were all looking forward to the game. I'm so disappointed.

'We have got to try to get three points in Switzerland and then see where we are.'

'I'm bitterly disappointed.

'We said it was a must-win and we have come away with nothing, it hurts.

'You have got to take your chances at international level.

'I think that affected us and we never really got going in the second half. They took their chance and we were always chasing.

'We worked on the system all week and I think it suits the players we have got but for some reason it didn't work.

'Training has been good all week and everyone has looked lively. We were all ready for the game but for whatever reason, we tried and tried, we just never got going.'
