'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Agustien Excited After Completing Swans Move

Kemy Agustien says he's excited after completing his free transfer to Swansea City.

The Dutch midfielder enjoyed an impressive spell on trial during the Holland Tour in July, but a knee injury he suffered in his final match has delayed a move to the Liberty Stadium until now.

The 24 year-old's signing gives Brendan Rodgers a big boost as he provides the Swansea boss with another useful midfield option.

Agustien told the Official Site:

'It's nice to finally get everything agreed,''

'I'm so excited about it.

'Swansea made a big impression on me out in Holland and I had a great week with the lads.

'I've played for quiet a few teams so far in my career, but I've never felt as welcome at a club as I did when I joined up with Swansea out in Holland.

'I've never been treated so well by a squad of players. It was a bit of a shock. In fact, I'm still in shock. There are no big time players here; everyone is treated the same and behaves the same.

'They are a great bunch and they've given me a great welcome. Now I just can't wait to get started again.''

'I've worked hard to get back from the injury and started integrating with the squad on the training field this week.

'I only did about two weeks pre-season training before I joined up with Swansea in Holland. Then I picked up the injury, so I've had a bit of catching up to do.

'But I'm feeling good and I hope to push myself into the frame against Reading a week on Saturday.''

Brendan Rodgers also shared his views on Agustien's arrival:

'He has the attributes that can take him to the highest level in the British game,''

'He is mobile; he gets about the pitch well; he is strong and a good player with the ball at his feet.

'He has everything we would look for in terms of the type of player who could play for Swansea.

'Technically he is strong, tactically he understands the game and physically he can deal with the game in Britain.'
