Jenkins: Agustien Will Be An 'Exciting Signing'

Huw Jenkins says Kemy Agustien will be an 'exciting signing' if 'everything goes to plan' as Swansea City hope to sign the midfielder.

The Dutchman was on trial during the Holland Summer Tour at the end of July but a knee injury in his final friendly match prevented him from joining the club ready for the Championship season.

However, the 24 year-old has been back in Swansea after a spell in Holland recovering from the injury and looks set to join on a free as soon as he is fit enough to pass a medical.

Chairman Huw Jenkins has updated us on his current progress:

'There is no doubt Kemy has got a good pedigree,'

'He impressed during pre-season and it was unfortunate he picked up an injury.

'But he is building his fitness up and he will be an exciting signing for us if everything goes as planned.

'Birmingham realised his potential and Brendan has heard a lot of positive things about him.

'His potential, along with the quality we have in the squad, means it is an exciting time for this club.

'Kemy has settled well here and gets on well with the players.

'That's important for a player to know he can ease into a new environment and express himself fully.'

'Kemy is the sort of player we want at Swansea talented, hungry to improve himself and the club,' he said. 'He can help take the club forward.'
