De Vries Confident Swans Can Have A Good Season

Dorus De Vries is confident that we can have another good season this year in the Championship, after a promising start to the campaign.

The Dutch goalkeeper admits he doesn't take too much notice to the table this early on, but says we've made a better start than last season - when we finished just 1 point away from the play-offs.

De Vries believes we can push on now and have another good year:

'I never pay much attention at the beginning of the season, but my feeling is that we've made a better start,'

'We have more points on the table, but it's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

'Our home form is really good. All the games we had, apart from the last one, we've scored in and won.

'Then last week we had our first victory away so all round I think it's a better start to previous seasons and it's something to build on.'

'We're a more mature squad now, we've progressed again and step by step we're progressing still,'

'We have all the ingredients to do well, we have quality from back up to front.

'We can get great results away from home if we believe in ourselves and play as a team that's what Swansea have always been about.

'We can score a lot of goals, but the key is to play as a team. Then it can be a great season.

'Let's hope we can start well after the international break because we have a couple of big games coming up.

'Hopefully all the little injuries we've got will be sorted out and the squad will come back stronger.'

De Vries will have to watch his discipline further now as he is just one booking away from a suspension, and new signing Yves Makabu-Makalambay will be waiting to take his place between the sticks.
