Williams Wins Welsh Club Player of the Year Award

Ashley Williams has won the Welsh Club Player of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The 26 year-old defender has been a rock in Swansea City's back four this year and completely deserves the award. His consistency, reliability and overall quality has earned him a regular place in the Wales squad, and hopefully the Swans can continue to hang on to one of their star assets.

In the FAW ceremony last night, Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale won Welsh Player of the Year, and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey won Young Welsh Player of the Year.

Former Swan Leighton Phillips, who won 58 caps between 1971 and 1981 was also awarded a long-service award.
