Saunders Pleased With Taylor Fee

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said he was pleased with the £150,000 fee they agreed on with Swansea City for left back Neil Taylor.

The two clubs failed to agree on a compensation fee for the 21 year-old defender, but prior to today's tribunal they managed to agree on £150,000. Swansea City will also pay Wrexham 10% of any transfer fee profits they receive.

Saunders said:

'Talks have been ongoing for months, but with the tribunal pending, it does focus everyone's minds and I'm glad we have reached a deal with the Swans,'

'I think a fee of £150,000 is a fair reflection on the work that has gone into developing Neil over the years and to such an extent that he also has a full Wales cap to go with the many others he has collected at U21 level and below.

'Swansea are already seeing a return on their investment, as he's fast becoming a regular in their side and they're right up there pushing the Championship top spots.'

'Discussions between the clubs heated up last night and late into the evening a tentative agreement was reach, before everything was finalised this morning and the necessary paperwork exchanged this afternoon,' said Dean.

'It's great news for both Wrexham FC and also Neil Taylor, as we are all delighted that he has stepped up to Championship and with another Welsh club in Swansea City.
