Rodgers: No Contact From Keane About Beattie
Brendan Rodgers says he hasn't heard anything from Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane regarding his interest in striker Craig Beattie.
SkySports 'understands' that the former Manchester United midfielder is interested in signing the frontman - despite his on-going injury problems which has limited him to just 3 goals in 12 starts at Swansea City.
Rodgers spoke about Beattie's situation and said:
"I haven`t heard anything and, to be fair to Roy, we speak reasonably regularly. We speak very openly on players so unless there is a message on my phone I haven`t heard anything.
"It`s something I would speak to Craig about and see where we are at.
"At the moment he has got a slight injury, but should be coming back.
"He missed the end of last season, came back, worked very hard over the summer, came back into pre-season and broke down.
"Then, having had a number of weeks out, had just returned to training last week and picked up a little niggle.
"So at the moment he is not in contention for us. But it is something we would look at and take it from there.
"But, at the moment, it`s just speculation so I can`t really say to much on that."
