Rangel Could Return For Watford Game

Brendan Rodgers says Angel Rangel could return for the Watford game next Tuesday after the Spaniard began full training again this week.

The full back suffered a thigh injury a month ago and he was expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. Rangel was strongly linked with a move to Blackpool but his thigh problem ended any speculation linking him with a move away in the Summer transfer window.

Rodgers says it's a big boost to see Rangel back in training:

Seeing Angel in training was wonderful news for us,'

'He's a wonderful player who loves his football.

'He was very disappointed to be out, but he's a naturally fit lad and his motivation to get fit is fantastic.

'Angel has worked very hard to get back in the frame again.

'Some players take a while to get back into things after an injury, but Angel is not too far away purely because of his natural fitness.

'We're possibly looking at the Watford game for Angel — it depends on how he goes in training this week.'

Swansea City have managed well with Rangel's absence. Alan Tate has looked an even better player at right back, while youngster Neil Taylor has slotted in very comfortably on the opposite flank. The Spaniard is most likely going to have to wait a few weeks before he gets his regular place back in the first team.
