Rodgers: We Deserved The Win

Brendan Rodgers said he was pleased with his side's performances as they continued their 100% record at home with a 2-1 victory against Coventry City last night.

The Swans completely dominated the first half and Darren Pratley's headed goal from Gower's corner gave us a 1-0 lead at half time. Coventry City came out a much better side though in the second half but this didn't stop Scott Sinclair from doubling our lead early on.

Poor defensive work gave the visitors a chance to get back into the match though as Turner volleyed in from close range. While it looked like we were going to go on and win comfortably after Sinclair's strike, Coventry's goal completely changed things and we were on the back foot as Boothroyd's side enjoyed some good spells in our own half.

Rodgers said:

'I thought we were outstanding at times and could have scored a few more,'

'We are offensively minded and got punished. It was a sloppy moment for us which gave them hope.

'The game became a bit of a war after that. But we were well worthy of the win. Coventry have some good players and made us work hard.

'There are moments we can pick out to improve on. But we are learning our lessons which is important.

'We have a good home record and that's three wins in a row here. But we have to continue doing the right things without the ball as well as with it.

'It's about building on this by beating Scunthorpe on Saturday.
