Curtis Begins Temporary Wales Role With Flynn

Alan Curtis will join Brian Flynn as a coach in the Wales management setup for the next two international games.

Following John Toshack's departure last week, under-21s boss Brian Flynn takes temporary charge and Curtis will assist him for the games against Bulgaria and Switzerland next month.

Flynn has done a superb job with the under-21s squad and they've been very unlucky to miss out twice on qualifying for a major competition. He's now looking to become the permanent Wales manager, he said:

'Naturally, as a very proud Welshman, this is a job that I have always wanted to do,'

'I realise that initially it is only for two games, but I shall give it my all to try and achieve results and stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis.'
