Lansbury Injury Puts Loan Move On Hold

Henri Lansbury won't be joining Swansea City on loan just yet as he could out of action for up to 6 weeks with a groin injury.

The Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium for a few weeks now and although there were reports recently that he looked set to join the Swans, a loan to Swansea City isn't likely now for a month or more.

Leeds United - our opponents tomorrow at Elland Road, have also had talks about signing Lansbury on loan but reports suggested that the Swans were leading the race to sign the promising youngster.

According to TalkSport, Lansbury has been told to rest for 4 weeks and his recovery could take up to 6, which means manager Brendan Rodgers will have to wait until October if he wishes to sign him.

The club has told the Swansea manager that he must loan out or release players first before he can strengthen the squad. Rodgers has targeted players in all positions recently but his main priority is still to sign some strikers.
