Swansea City Move Closer To Signing Agustien

Brendan Rodgers says he's hoping to complete the signing of former trialist Kemy Agustien 'in the next week or so'.

The Dutch midfielder had a successful trial period at the club during the Holland Tour at the end of July, but a knee injury he suffered in his final game delayed a permanent move.

Despite being under contract at his current club Alkmaar and the transfer window now closing, a move to the Liberty Stadium is still possible as it's believed that agreements are in place for his contract to be cancelled, which means he can join us as a free agent.

Manager Brendan Rodgers says a move is agreed subject to a medical:

'Hopefully we'll get Kemy Agustien which will be done in the next week or so.

'He's coming on very, very well. Everything has been agreed in principle with him, subject to a medical, and we don't see that being a problem.

'We're looking forward to getting him in and getting him a part of what is already a very good squad.'

Agustien impressed during the Holland Tour and he looks like an excellent signing for free if we do finalise the move.
