Motherwell Reject Swansea's Bid For Reynolds

Motherwell Reject Swansea's Bid For Reynolds

Swansea City have had a bid for Motherwell defender Mark Reynolds rejected by the Scottish Premier League side.

The South Wales 'Evening' Post reported early this morning that the Swans were looking to make a late bid of around £250,000 for the 23 year-old, but BBC Sport have followed with the news that our offer has been turned down.

Manager Brendan Rodgers last week said he was happy with his defence and that he wasn't looking to strengthen in that area, but he seems to have changed his mind.

Motherwell rejected a £750,000 bid from Rangers two years ago, but his value has significantly dropped as he is in his last year of his contract at Fir Park.

Apart from Swansea City rejecting Leicester City's bid for Ashley Williams, there is no other transfer news to report on deadline day. It now looks like Rodgers will have to wait until the emergency loan window which opens next week to strengthen his squad. He's still targeting young Premiership duo Frank Nouble (West Ham United striker) and Henri Lansbury (Arsenal midfielder).

Why did we leave it to the last day to look for a defender when Rangel was injured like a fortnight ago???

That's what I thought, seemed late to make a bid for a defender
