'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers: We Were Outstanding

Brendan Rodgers was delighted with his side's 'outstanding' performance in today's 1-0 home win against Burnley.

Scott Sinclair scored the winning goal early on in the first half and the Swans showed a superb display of attacking football as well as good defending to hold onto the 1-0 win.

Rodgers told the Official Site:

'I thought we were outstanding, particularly in the first-half, when we were free flowing and very, very good,'

'Obviously when you only get the one goal it leaves it a little bit hairy at the end.

'And for that persistence, which I spoke about in the week, against a fantastic team in Burnley who are going to be right up there, it was a fantastic three points.'

I thought that both sendings off were very, very harsh,' he added.

'Everyone knows that Darren is a really honest player and he wouldn't have gone down unless he really had to.

'I haven't seen it again, but I thought it was a penalty, so for him to get booked then for that to cost him a red card… it's very, very disappointing.

'I also thought the second red card was harsh on Mears - it wasn't that sort of game.'

Yeh, Both teams played their socks off, and a well deserved win for the Swans, But hey, a message to who ever sends us the refs, how about one that nows what he's doing, Darrens sending off, No way, Burnleys sending off, bit harsh, and the number of hand balls that went unpunished, well the ref might be a part time football ref and a full time rugby ref, I dunno..
