Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry shared his thoughts after watching his side lose 3-1 in the Carling Cup Second Round last night against Swansea City.
The Swans were there for the taking at Prenton Park last night after a disappointing first half for us which saw us create just shot on goal in the opening 45 minutes.
Showumni opened the scoring for the home side midway through the first half, as Garry Monk failed to deal with a long ball.
Rodgers urged his team to go out in the second half with more intensity but apart from a lively start, there was nothing to shout about until 15 minutes from time, when Cedric Van Der Gun found the net after following up to Orlandi's long range shot that hit the bar.
Moments later we were 2-1 in front, as Kuqi's flick-on header gave Scott Sinclair the chance to score his first goal for the club. Kuqi grabbed our third in the final few seconds of the match.
Les Parry said:
'I thought we played really well and created some chances in the first half. We'll play a lot worse than that and win this season. I was gutted for the lads because of the amount of effort they put in. Swansea are a good footballing side and you have to work hard to stop them playing, and our lads did.'
'You tend to ignore the last goal because it happened when we were pushing on and it was the last kick of the game. The first one was a fluke and the second was an excellent goal that takes a lot of stopping. Had Enoch's header gone in we'd be feeling different now.'
'We can take some heart from the performance. Sometimes results like that take a little bit of getting over because of the performance, but they'll be off tomorrow and back in on Thursday and they'll be bright and breezy.'
