Swansea City To Make Loan Bid For Leroy Lita?

Swansea City have been linked with a loan bid for Middlesbrough striker leroy Lita, as Brendan Rodgers continues his search for a new frontman.

The Swans manager only has two strikers available as Gorka Pintado is set to be out of action for 3 months after suffering a shoulder injury in the opening game of the season at Hull City, plus Craig Beattie is unavailable with a calf problem.

Wales Online believe that Rodgers has made a 'verbal enquiry' about Lita, and Swansea City are now set to make an official bid for the 25 year-old.

Lita has averaged around 1 goal every 2 games during his career, having netted 69 goals in 151 League starts. His cup form is even better, scoring 10 goals in 8 FA Cup ties, 7 goals in 9 League Cup games and 2 goals in 4 other cup matches.

He started his career at Bristol City before joining Reading in a £1million move in 2005. He spent 4 years at the Majeski Stadium - scoring 20 goals in 60 League starts, before having loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Norwich City.

He switched to the Riverside Stadium at the beginning of last season but has only played 23 games, scoring 8 goals. He doesn't seem to be in Gordon Strachan's first team plans this year and he may well be interested in a move to get regular first team football. Despite that though, the questions remain as to whether we'll bid high enough to persuade Middlesbrough to sell, and can we agree personal terms with the player?

What are your views on Leroy Lita? Would he be a good signing?
