Another Bid Rejected For Watford Striker Graham?

According to Swansea Sound, Swansea City have had another bid rejected for Watford striker Danny Graham.

The local radio station reported on Friday that the Hornets have rejected a second bid for Graham, as Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers steps up his search for a striker.

Gorka Pintado requires an operation on his shoulder so he'll be on the sidelines for up to two months, and Rodgers has set his number 1 priority on bringing in a forward before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Brendan Rodgers has worked with Graham when he was manager at Watford, and the striker has already 4 goals this season. He netted a brace in their opening day win at Norwich City before scoring another two goals in the Carling Cup victory against Aldershot.

It's been reported that Swansea City's first bid, which was rejected, was in the region of £600,000, and we'd have to increase that substantially for us to land the 25 year-old.

Former boss Paulo Sousa was a fan of big strikers, but Rodgers is looking for a frontman with more pace:

"Danny is someone the club were interested in before I came to Swansea. But Danny is a player at another club so I won`t comment any more."

"We still need to strengthen, there`s no question.

"The reality is we have two great strikers, so as great as the win against Preston was we`ve got to think of the future as well.

"We have to get the right type of striker, there are lots out there.

"But we need to get the right type to come in and play how we want to play. They have to have quality, hunger and ambition.

"I don`t necessarily believe in having a big front man. I want someone who is mobile, who moves well, and obviously someone who gets goals. Someone`s whose instincts is to score. We have a list of players and we want to make sure we get a few arrivals in."

Either him or Morison would be ideal!

a > Danny is worth £3m+ right now in todays market. I'd be amazed if Watford part with him for less than £2m. b > Rodgers did not work with Danny at Watford - Brendan Who was well gone before Goalden Graham arrived in WD18
