Rodgers Hopeful Of Sinclair Signing

Rodgers Hopeful Of Sinclair Signing

Brendan Rodgers is hopeful of finalising a move for Scott Sinclair within the next 48 hours, as he looks to improve our goalscoring threat up front.

The Swansea City boss is keen to add up to 3 new players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, and along with Dutch trialist Kemy Agustien, Scott Sinclair could be another player set to sign at the Liberty Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers said his squad doesn't need 'major surgery', but it does need 2 or 3 new players, he told BBC Sport:

'Goal-scoring is the priority.

'There's no question we've got very good players here, they're great lads to work with - there's absolutely no question about that - but we need to have that mutual ruthlessness in the opponents' box.

'So that's the area I know the club were trying to strengthen before I came in.

'It's an area we need to add to as strikers, but the wide players need to contribute to goals as well.

'So we play some wonderful stuff - we just need to get that finishing touch.

'Talks have been on-going and we'll look at that in the early part of next week.

'Scott's a wonderful player and he's 21 so he's going to come to a club that can develop so we'll hopefully finalise that in the next 48 hours.'

I hope this isn't another player we'll miss out on after the manager/chairman says a move is close.
