Pearson 'Delighted' With Opening Day Win

Hull City boss Nigel Pearson was 'delighted' with his side's 2-0 win at home to Swansea City todau, and says there's more to come from his team.

New Tottenham Hotspur loanee John Bostock fired in a superb 30-yard strike midway through the first half to open the scoring, before Ashbee doubled Hull's advantage on 50 minutes after an error from goalkeeper Dorus De Vries.

Pearson said:

"It was a technical game and we knew Swansea would try to play it out from the back,"

"I'm pleased that the players showed the discipline to stick to the game plan. We were struggling a little bit for numbers up front, but we made it work. The clean sheet was a positive as well.

"I'm not going to dress it up, I don't think it was a particularly exciting game. But we need to learn how to win tight games and be hard to beat, which I thought we were for the most part.

"There's more to come. We have players here who experienced a tough year last season and their confidence needs building back up.

"I am delighted because it's always good to get off to a winning start."
