'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers' Reaction To Opening Day Defeat

Brendan Rodgers says his side need to be more clinical in front of goal after losing 2-0 today at Hull City.

The new Swansea City manager says his side need to find the 'formula' to convert chances into goals.

The Swans showed some good play at times but it means nothing if you can't find the net, and that's what the Tigers did thanks to a great strike from debutant John Bostock, and a goalkeeping error from Dorus de Vries.

Rodgers said:

'I think people who see Swansea regularly would say that's the norm, in terms of controlling and dominating the game.

'The team will dominate possession, but in those moments you have to score. We know what we need to do, we've got a great squad here and we just need to find that formula that allows us to go and turn a lot of our good play into goals. I'm confident we'll be able to do that.'

He added: 'We've been beaten by a world-class strike and a disappointing one from a corner. There are always positives, I'll try to reflect on those and move on.'

Pity He didn't show some attacking desire--- one up front and Dobbie at that is not good enough. Gower should be offloaded, not good enough. Let's hope Allen get's fit soon and stays fit. We need speed---of thought and movement. Passing for the sake of it never works-- plan a stategy, Rodgers--not much of that there today.
