Aguestien Contract 'More or Less' Agreed

Brendan Rodgers is hoping that trialist Kemy Aguestien can join the Squad for the new Championship season despite picking up a knee injury in the Tour's final game at Ado Den Haag.

The 23 year-old midfielder impressed in all three matches last week in Holland but talks of a permanent move to Swansea City have been delayed after he picked up an knee ligament injury during Saturday's match.

Despite suffering the injury, which could rule him out of action for up to two months, Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is very keen to add Aguestien to his squad for the new season which gets underway on Saturday at Hull City.

The 23 year-old Dutchman is a strong figure in the centre of midfield who looks very comfortable in possession. He also showed the ability to score goals with an excellent right-footed curling shot during the 9-1 thrashing win against VC Sparta.

Rodgers said:

'We are still waiting for information on what Kemy has done but, if you are asking me what we are going to do with the player, the answer is that we are very keen to bring him in.

'I have spoken with his agent and we more or less got an agreement on a contract for Kemy.

'Both parties are trying hard to make sure it works out well and we are hopeful that he will soon be in Swansea working to get fit.'

'He is one that we are looking to sign and nothing that happened on Saturday is going to change that,' said the Swansea boss.

'He has got many good years ahead of him and I think he can be a real asset to us.'
