Rangel Keen To Leave Swans For Blackpool

Angel Rangel has told Swansea City that he wants to leave the club to join Premiership new-boys Blackpool.

The Seasiders have had an undisclosed bid rejected for the 27 year-old, but the Swans have told them to increase their offer if they want to sign the full back this Summer.

The Spaniard was missing for the Swans' second Holland Tour match at VC Sparta which sparked rumours suggesting he was set to leave for Bloomfield Road.

After holding meetings with the player, Jenkins said:

'Angel has given us his views on where he sees himself at our club and in the future,'

'We discussed a variety of options — Angel staying at the club until his contract runs out, Angel looking at a new proposal from us or, if we agree a fee, Angel speaking to Blackpool.

'I think he feels that because of his age and the fact that he has been with us for a number of years, there's an opportunity there (at Blackpool) that he would like to take advantage of.

'That's come over to us quite strongly and we are under no illusions as to where we stand with him.'

Fans have suggested that a move to Blackpool would be somewhat pointless, as Ian Holloway's side are odds-on favourites to make an instant return to the Championship, after winning the play-offs in May.
