5-Star Swansea City Ease Past Llanelli

Swansea City eased past Llanelli this evening with a comfortable 5-1 victory at a very wet Stebonheath Park.

New manager Brendan Rodgers was watching on from the stands and this certainly had an effect on the players as they looked to impress their new boss.

While previous friendlies have been low-scoring games for the Swans, a side mixed with Youth, trialists and first teamers managed 5 goals - the amount we scored in our first 3 pre-season friendlies.

The Swans found themselves 3-0 in front after just 24 minutes, as Casey Thomas broke the deadlock early on, converting Cedric Van Der Gun's cross.

Kuqi then grabbed a brace, with his second coming from the penalty spot after Van Der Gun was brought down inside the box.

Bowen struck back for the home side, but Van Der Gun quickly responded to maintain our 3-goal advantage.

The best was saved to last though, as trialist Njazi Kuqi, who came on as a replacement for his brother Shefki, as fired the ball into the top corner from 25 yards to boost his chances of getting a contract at the club.

Swansea: David Cornell (Ashley Elsey, 85'); Jazz Richards, Albert Serran (Joe Walsh, 68'), Jamie Grimes, Neil Taylor (Daniel Alfei, 73'); Casey Thomas, Matty Collins (Lee Lucas, 67'), Shaun MacDonald (Jordan Smith, 81'), Cedric van der Gun (Jordan Prosser, 74'); Jhon van Beukering (Scott Donnelly, 67'), Shefki Kuqi (Njazi Kuqi, 74').

Goals: Casey Thomas (6'), Shefki Kuqi (18', 24' pen), Cedric van der Gun (62'), Njazi Kuqi (84')
