'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Full Time: Hereford United 2-0 Swansea City

Swansea City slumped to a disappointing defeat tonight away at League Two outfit Hereford United.

Pascoe and Curtis named a much stronger side to the youthful one that beat Port Talbot 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough to avoid defeat against the Bulls.

James McQuilkin opened the scoring after 21 minutes, as his deflected strike beat Dorus de Vries in the Swansea goal.

Swansea City then tried to respond, and we managed to put the ball in the net when Dyer raced onto Dobbie's through ball, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Angel Rangel's error early in the second half gave Hereford an easy chance to double their advantage. The Spaniard's header back to Cornell was too short, and Sean Canham took full advantage to net their second of the game.

Hereford: Adam Bartlett, Ryan Green, Ryan Valentine, Janos Kovacs, Richard Rose, Kenny Lunt, James McQuilkin, O'Neil Thompson, Mathieu Manset, Sean Canham, Stuart Fleetwood.

Subs: Dan Connor, Sam Malsom, Michael Townsend, Lionel Djebzi, Tyler Weir, Daniel Stretford, Jamie Sheldon, Kayne McLaggon, Karl Moore, Josh Knight, Kye Edwards.

Swans: Dorus de Vries (David Cornell, 46'); Angel Rangel (Jazz Richards, 62'), Ashley Williams (Jamie Grimes, 62'), Garry Monk (Neil Taylor, 62'), Alan Tate (Albert Serran, 46'); Jordi Lopez (Shaun MacDonald, 62'), Mark Gower (Scott Donnelly 62'), Nathan Dyer (Casey Thomas, 62'), Cedric van der Gun (David Cotterill, 46'), Stephen Dobbie (Gorka Pintado, 46'), Craig Beattie (Shefki Kuqi, 46').

Subs: Lee Lucas.

Darren Pratley misses out due to illness, but I'm sure this will add fuel to the rumours linking him with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Also missing is Andrea Orlandi. No news as to why, but he's also been linked with a move from the Swans, as Paulo Sousa is interested in bringing him to the Walkers Stadium. Coincidence that the two players rumoured to be leaving haven't travelled?
