Curtis Praises Swansea City Squad
Swansea City legend and current coach Alan Curtis has praised the players, saying they've responded well to the tough training sessions they've been put through.
Despite losing a manager last week, Curtis says the players have quickly forgotten about his departure, and have instead concentrated on getting fit for the new Championship season which starts on August 7th.
"Last Monday was a little bit traumatic because of the news that Paulo had gone,"
"But players are quite resilient, and it quickly gets forgotten really.
"They know they have to get fit whoever is in charge and in fairness they have worked extremely hard in the last week.
"We have really pushed them in double sessions and every one of them has responded well."
Curtis who's in temporary charge of the squad along with Colin Pascoe, said it was too early to field a strong side for our first pre-season friendly on Saturday:
"We have only been back training for five or six days and we felt it was a bit early, especially with the work the players put in during the week,"
"The younger lads have younger legs, so they probably don`t get affected as much.
"It`s just a case of stretching the legs at this stage. Win, lose or draw, the main thing is to come through unscathed and, apart from Kerry Morgan taking a bang on the foot, we have done that."
More first team players should feature on Tuesday evening when we travel to Hereford United. The match kicks off at 7.30pm. Ticket prices are £8 Adults, £4 OAP's and £1 for under-16's.
