Jenkins: No Rush To Replace Sousa

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says the club will not be rushed into finding a replacement for Paulo Sousa - who was confirmed as Leicester City's new manager this week.

The 39 year-old left the club after just 12 months in charge following speculation that Sousa and the board's relationship had deteriorated in the last few months. You certainly get the hint that they didn't get on when Jenkins recently said that they were looking for a manager 'we can work with'.

Jenkins says they won't rush in appointing a new manager, as we have the right people in place to take care of things in the meantime. Coaches Colin Pascoe and Alan Curtis are currently in temporary charge.

While we fully recognise we need to get a manager in as soon as possible, we've got a stable staff who will make sure our pre-season preparations are fully implemented,'

'That will give us a bit of breathing space to make sure we get the right person in.

'I can't give a time on it, but over the next few days we'll see what develops.'

'We've got a good system in place, we've got staff committed to our training this week and moving things forward,' said Jenkins, who has placed coaches Alan Curtis and Colin Pascoe in temporary charge.

'I think we learned our lessons from last year.

'Last year was a different situation because we lost all our backroom staff, chief scout and physios. That was a much worse situation to be in.

'We're fully prepared for any eventuality these days and we have to make sure that system continues at the club and we don't lose all staff when any manager leaves.

'We need to get some continuity here.

'Supporters shouldn't be worried. There's always a bit of apprehension when managers change, but I think first and foremost, we're fully aware of what we need to do and we've got full control over the situation.

'Our players will be properly looked after, put through their paces and pre-season will continue as planned.'

Totally agree cyax who ever takes on the job needs to bring in some of his own players and they need time to gel with the rest of the squad
