Poyet: Swansea City Move 'Practically Impossible'

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has ruled out a move to Swansea City, saying succeeding Paulo Sousa at the Liberty Stadium is 'practically impossible'.

The former Uruguayan international and Chelsea striker is a strong favourite amongst the fans' choice to take over at the Liberty Stadium, but Poyet looks set to sign a new 4-year contract with the Seagulls.

Poyet told BBC Sport:

'I would say it is practically impossible,'

'I am very close to signing a four-year deal here and everything is agreed.'

Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale has also ruled out joining the Swans, saying he's happy at the club and is not looking for a move.

Gary Speed is the new favourite amongst the bookmakers, ahead of Gareth Southgate and Nigel Adkins. Jim Magilton, former Ipswich and QPR manager, has also been linked with the job today, and the Swans are going to approach the Irishman according to the Belfast Telegraph.
