Swansea City To Approach Magilton For Manager?

Former Ipswich and QPR boss Jim Magilton has emerged as the latest person to be linked with the Swansea City manager's job.

Reports today suggest that the club are set to approach Magilton to succeed Paulo Sousa as our new boss.

If these news stories are correct, they're hardly unlikely to inspire Swansea City fans - especially considering how his last job at QPR ended. Magilton was suspended by the Loftus Road club, and then sacked following allegations that he head-butted a player. The Irishman denied any wrong-doings in an incident which occurred after a Monday-night fixture.

The Belfast Telegraph says today that Magilton is set to succeed Paulo Sousa for a second time. They believe that a 'tentative approach has been made to Magilton' - who is 'interested' in the job.

Incidentally, Magilton is now 10/1 with bookmakers Victor Chandler, following today's reports. Gary Speed is the new favourite at 7/4.

Jim gave me the greatest time as a QPR fan, that I can remember for a long time. We played excellent football and really got back to what the club was all about. I think the type of manager he is didn't lend itself well to some of the spineless prats in our squad, and ultimately he was ousted. Given the chance I think he can do a good job at the Liberty - you'd get entertainment without question.
