No Show From Sousa Adds To Exit Speculation

Paulo Sousa failed to show up for Day 1 of pre-season training on Friday, which adds to the speculation linking him with the manager's job at Leicester City.

When the Evening Post asked the Swansea City boss for a comment recently regarding the rumours, he refused to respond - though he's usually mute to the media when it concerns speculation.

You have to say these circumstances are a dream for the media, as they have plenty of backing now to add to the rumours that Sousa is set to leave the club.

Sousa's failure to show up to training, bookmakers suspending bets as they believe he's agreed terms plus his refusal to comment on the situation - suggests that a move is definitely possible. Surely, there's nothing the fans would like more now than for our manager to tell us where he stands on the whole saga. As a club, we need to know for sure on his future so we can continue with our pre-season preparations.

Maybe there's an explanation to Sousa's absence yesterday (other than he's about to join Leicester), and hopefully Huw Jenkins will update us on the situation regarding our manager.

Mandaric, Leicester's chairman, says that they're looking to approach 3-4 people this week:

"Of course I admire Sousa`s style of football and he`s a younger, successful manager, and everyone recognises that."

"We are drawing up a very short list, out of 30 or 40 names, of three or four people who we will approach, starting today.

"Our objective is to hire somebody and bring them on board by no later than next week.

"Our objective is to bring in somebody who has experience of English football. Somebody who has done a successful job previously, at Championship level."

have you read the official website?? huw jenkins has released a statement and i dont think huw jenkins is signing these players on his own without sousa??

Sousa is ambitious and I've no doubt he has his own future in mind. Huw Jenkins may be oblivious of Sousa's intentions and just going along with what the manager proposes. I for one don't trust Sousa.
