Jenkins: Sousa Decides Who We Sign

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says that manager Paulo Sousa decides which players the club signs.

There has been plenty of speculation and gossip that Jenkins has made a few signings without full consultation with the manager - including Lee Trundle on loan and Craig Beattie.

Huw Jenkins has welcomed David Leadbeater to the club, who arrives from Middlesbrough to help the Swans reform abd restructure its recruitment policy.

His main focus is to find hungry and enthusiastic youngsters that Jenkins believes will drive the club forwards.

Despite his arrival to reorganise the recruitment at the club, Jenkins insists Sousa is still the man to decide which players we bring in.

'David has a wealth of knowledge and contacts that can help us move forward in terms of recruitment,' said Jenkins.

'He has been in the game long enough and we would be foolish not to take advantage of that.

'His appointment is an important one at the club and he will help identify potential players for the squad.

'He will certainly help Paulo in that respect. But Paulo is the manager and he is the one who decides which players we will consider making a move for.

'What you are referring to is just something that was simply lost in translation.'
