Donnelly: We Can Win Promotion To Premiership

New signing Scott Donnelly believes Swansea City are capable of winning promotion to the Premier League next season.

The 22 year-old rejected a new contract at League 2 side Aldershot Town to join the Swans and so far he has been impressed by what he has seen.

He told the Evening Post:

'This is a huge and unexpected move for me,' said Donnelly, who had also been a target for Wycombe.

'I saw Swansea play on a number of occasions last season and they were very impressive. The football they play is outstanding and the players and manager in place shows we have everything in place to have a serious attempt at going up.

'You saw Blackpool do it last season with a relatively small budget and I think with all that's in place here, there's no reason why we can't do the same.'

'I know this is a massive opportunity for me,'

'Being alongside the likes of Darren Pratley, who was the standout player last season, is something I'm really looking forward to.

'I have to impress the gaffer first before I can think of being in his plans, but I think I can make an impression at Swansea and in the Championship. I can't wait to start pre-season training next week.'
