Swansea City Target Leeds United Defender

Swansea City are looking at Leeds United defender Alan Sheehan after losing Fede Bessone to the Yorkshire club, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Swans are considering making a move for Sheehan after Bessone rejected a new contract at the Liberty Stadium and opted to join our Championship rivals.

The Yorkshire Post believe Leeds are looking to offload the defender before the new season starts.

League One outfit Swindon Town are also interested in Sheehan after he played on loan for the Robins last season.

He didn't feature in Leeds' League One promotion campaign last year and has struggled since his move from Leicester City in 2008.

Wrexham left back Neil Taylor has also been strongly linked with a move to Swansea City to cover the squad place left behind by Bessone.

Sheehan isn't out of contract, we just want rid because he's not very good. Simon Grayson told him at the end of last season to actively look for a new club during the summer.

He picks up silly red cards(or he did with Leeds) He's never fitted in at Leeds with Grayson in charge. He sent him out on loan towards the end of the 2008/09 season. In pre season he gave him a chance and the ref nearly sent him off in a pre season game which was the final straw. He spent the whole of last season on loan at Oldham and then Swindon. SWindon are keen to sign him but maybe League One is his level.

If Robinson was Swans player of the season a couple of years ago maybe Sheehan will fit in. You deserve some payback for offloading the pieman on us.
