Sousa Looking Forward To The New Season

Paulo Sousa speaks for the first time this Summer about plans for the new season.

The Swansea City manager has finally broken his silence since missing out on the play-offs last term and he told the club's official site:

'Last season we made a big improvement on the previous season in terms of league position, but also in showing what we can do here.

'I believe that with losing the players we did last year and to finish in the highest position in nearly 30 years was a big achievement for us.

'I know that the club always wants to keep moving in the right direction and we must see what we can do for next season.

'Once last season ended, and despite the disappointment, I stayed in Swansea to work on the pre-season tour and our preparation for next season.

'I had numerous meetings with the chairman where he introduced me to David Leadbeater, who is helping with our player recruitment.

'Together we spoke about the players that they wanted to bring to the club. I am looking forward to working with the players as soon as I can and try to develop them in the style of football that we play.''
