Jackett & Jenkins' Spending Plan

Jackett & Jenkins' Spending Plan

Manager Kenny Jackett and Chairman Huw Jenkins were set to have a meeting today to discuss the spending plans for next season.

They're starting work and planning for next season early so they ensure that they don't experience more misery in the play-offs and this time go up automatically.

Jackett and already starting making enquiries for different targets and he said:

''I want three, four or five new faces and I want them sooner rather than later,''

''I have one or two targets in mind and I want to move on them as quickly as I can.

''I'm meeting with Huw to discuss it all and I've already made enquiries about players.

''I'm not going on holiday until the last weekend of June and I'll be here in Swansea until then working on new signings.''

The Swansea squad will return for pre-season training on July 3rd.

Huw Jenkins has also talked about plans to setup a new training base for the club.

'It's our intention to look at the club's facilities over the next few years,'

'That would involve getting a training ground and training complex for our first team and youth set-up.

'It's something that was always second on our list after the new stadium. We've got a few options and it's something we'll be hoping to say more about in the next few weeks.'

The squad currently use the old AWCO ground in Jersey Marine and the Academy of Sport in Llandarcy.

He added: 'I can't understand why nobody who was at this club in the past did not address this issue,'

'Swansea City have been like a local pub side as far as training facilities go, but we've made it a top priority to change that. Since we've been involved it's been a matter of making do until we could find somewhere to go.'

I think we will spend somewhere between £500k and £1M this transfer period.
