'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jenkins Rubbishes Sousa-Panathinaikos Link

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says speculation of him leaving to join Panathinaikos is 'rubbish', and links with the Hull City job are also 'garbage'.

The Western Mail reported yesterday that the Greek side had Paulo Sousa as one of three targets for their Director of Football, but Jenkins has quickly responded, saying that the media are just 'scratching around for stories'.

Sousa has also been linked with other clubs, including West Ham, Burnley and Sporting Lisbon.

Jenkins said:

'People are just scratching round for stories and coming up with these things,'

'The stuff about Hull is utter garbage, and the Panathinaikos link is rubbish too.'

The chairman also added that he is set to have a meeting with Paulo Sousa after he returns from holiday to discuss 'a lot of different things', including the out of contract players such as Leon Britton, Fede Bessone and Andrea Orlandi, plus Lee Trundle who is still waiting to see if he will be offered a contract following his loan spell.
