'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tate Aiming To Return For Pre-Season

Alan Tate says he's ahead of schedule as he recovers from an ankle injury and aims to be fit for the start of pre-season training.

The vice-captain missed the last five games of the season after he needed an operation on his troublesome ankle, which forced him to have injections before games in order to play.

The good news is though is that he's ahead of schedule and hopes to be fit to start the pre-season campaign.

'I was still expected to be in a boot at this time but I'm about three weeks ahead of schedule,'

'It's only been four weeks since the operation and I've been back running since the weekend.

'It feels ok; the next step is to start working outside and then after about seven to 10 days I'll start moving a bit more and working on my fitness.

'At least I can target a return for the start of pre-season and not the end of July like originally planned.'
