'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RIP Besian Idrizaj

Swansea City are mourning the tragic and sudden death of 22 year-old Austrian striker Besian Idrizaj.

The news came has a huge shock and sadness yesterday when his agent confirmed that he had passed away at home in Austria.

All our thoughts are with Besian's family at this terrible time, for a man so young, with his whole life and professional footballing career ahead of him.

A club statement said:

'It is understood that the popular 22-year-old died in his sleep on Friday night while at home with his family in Austria.'

'The exact cause of death has not been confirmed and our thoughts are with his family, friends and team-mates at this time.'

I was shocked when I heard this as well. Thoughts of Vital QPR are with Liverpool, Luton, Palace and yourselves.

Socked doesn't quite express it, but thoughts and feeling go to the family & friends, such a tradegy for someone who was so young & promising.

Big tragedy and very, very sad news. RIP Besian.

Our deepest sympathy from the fans of Hartlepool Utd. There's nothing much more that can be said, other than we remember the kind and thoughtful way Swansea City and their fans acted when we lost Michael Maidens shortly before a league game with you a couple of years ago. It's awful that another young man has lost his life, we understand what it's like and we're so sorry it's happened again. RIP

Just to echo SGW's words. I'm sure all Poolies appreciated your sympathy back then and our thoughts are with your staff and fans at this sad time.

Fan rivalry is immaterial when a tragedy like this happens. Thanks to fellow fans for your sympathies, Besian will be sadly missed by all at Swansea City.

It's sobering when you see all fans come together over a tragedy like this. My thoughts and sympathies are with his family. Rest In Peace Besian.
