Sousa Set For Talks To Determine Future

Paulo Sousa is set to have talks with the board this week to determine his and the club's future next season.

After yesterday's 0-0 draw at home to Doncaster Rovers, which meant we missed out on the play-offs, Sousa said he'll hold talks with the club to determine his future.

'Next week I will go to chat with the board to treat my future here,'

'We will think about next season I will treat about these things together with the board.

'I have two years on my contract. For that I will be with the board looking to next season.'

'Next week I will stay with the board regarding the future of Swansea. I'm prepared for that.

'I have been waiting for around one month to know what we can have to organise ourselves better for next season.

'The main thing is finances to develop our squad.'

Sousa showed his disappointed recently over a lack of funds being available to strengthen the squad for the final few months of the season. The manager wanted 1 or 2 loan signings but was rejected the money to strengthen the squad. Money that would have easily have been paid back if we had made the play-offs.

'I don't care about the finances,'

'At this moment I care only about talking about what is best for Swansea next season.'

'At the moment I can't tell you about players coming in or coming out,'

'First I need to work with the board.'

I don't know about anybody else, but I hope Huw Jenkins and the rest of the board keep to their principle of not biting off more than they can chew! We've got to where we are by being sensible, and there's no reason why that can't continue to take us forward.
