Sousa Remains Upbeat About Playoff Chances

Paulo Sousa remains upbeat about our chances of finishing in the play-offs despite suffering a big blow today after losing 2-0 at Sheffield United and falling out of the top 6.

Blackpool replace us in the play-offs after they won at Peterborough United and Swansea City need a favour from Bristol City next Sunday if we are to get back into 6th place.

Sousa's dominated the majority of today's game at Bramall Lane but it was the same old story for us, not taking our chances and paying the price.

"Things can change and turn and we have to believe and we have to do our job properly,"

"We are depending on others, but we need to have pride in ourselves and keep our heads high because the way we have played this season is good.

"What we expect is my players to keep training with the same enthusiasm and to perform like we did today because it is easy to win games like that."

"The referee did something we are used to. It has been like that all season,"

"We have not had anything given all season so I don`t expect the referee to give us it today.

"But the way we came here and performed like we did was outstanding. Their keeper was also outstanding and was man of the match."

Same old story Sousa---It all boils down to you and your tactics. Too many team changes, the inability to get forward quickly enough and too much emphasis on defence. Dissappointing!!!!!!!
Philto
Too much emphasis on defence and we still concede 2 goals, and it could have been more near the end

god i've been slated all season for my opinions and now you all seem to have the same opinion as me, lmao

he knew we had to win today, i dont see much mention about that. bristol are on a good run but this side beat forrest 3-1 at home recently, and us 5-1, so im not really expecting much out of bristol. i would pray but im not religious...

Thought we played very well yesterday story of our season though need someone to put it in the net no play off place for us wouldn't be to disappointed to see Sousa go in the summer to defence minded lets get behind the boys next Sunday

like we've been this year, you can play well etc and win all the s stats but its only goals that count, and our goalscoring record is absolutely abysmal. sousa is a confident and positive guy but he's got to be realistic now.

Lads have u seen the stats for the last 6 games bristol city have played blacpool, blackpool have beat bristol once out of the 6 games. and all the bristol city fans prefer swansea 2 go up coz they h8 the blackpoool manager. we can still do this lads. WHEN WE PLAY DONCASTER WE NEED TO BE LOUD AS HELL. RIGHT BEHIND THE PLAYERS, NOT SLAGGING THEM OFF FOR DOING THINGS WRONG, JUST ENCOURAGE, COME ON GUYS, THE JACKS CAN DO THIS AND YOU ALL KNOW WE CAN!!!! X

Sad to say but Blackpool have momentum - and that is exactly what will carry them through into the play-offs. Swansea are a good footballing side but need a cutting edge.
