Cardiff vs Swansea Would Be 'Absolute Carnage'

Cardiff City defender Anthony Gerrard says that he hopes to avoid Swansea City in the play-offs because it would be 'absolute carnage'.

With just 2 games left, Swansea City now have just 2 games to secure 6th place and a win on Saturday away at Sheffield United would give us a massive boost going into the final game at home to Doncaster Rovers.

Unlike last season when Cardiff dropped out at the end after occupying a top 6 place for so long, our rivals have secured their position in the play-offs.

Gerrard is hoping he avoids a derby against Swansea City because of the extra pressure it would put on the players:

'Given last year's ridiculous results and the way Cardiff capitulated I'm happy to be there now,'

'But to be honest, it would be absolute carnage if Cardiff and Swansea met anywhere in the play-offs.'

'It would come with a lot of baggage, unneeded pressure and other sort of stuff which in football you've got to deal with,'

'But not when it comes to the end of the season when it's make or break.

'From a personal point of view, I would like to play somebody else. I fancy our chances against anybody home or away.'
