Swansea City Fined £15,000 After Derby Game

Swansea City have been fined £15,000 for failing to control their players during their 1-0 away win at Derby County.

Half of the fine, £7,500 has been suspended until December 31st 2011, while Derby County were fined £50,000 for two previous charges.

Chairman Huw Jenkins was 'bitterly disappointed' with the outcome and the club could appeal the decision:

'I am bitterly disappointed with the outcome,'

'I feel we put forward a very good case.

'While I can understand to some degree why they would find us guilty, I cannot see any justification in the level of fine imposed.

'The proportion of fine certainly doesn't justify our involvement in the incident when you consider our past disciplinary record and the exemplary way our players had reacted earlier to the bad tackle, and subsequent injury, to young Joe Allen.

'While I don't think we should have even been charged by the FAW, I also feel strongly that our case should not have come before a joint commission. The level of our fine has a direct relationship to the fine handed out to Derby.

'Once we have received all the written documentation from the Commission, we will consider our position. That could include an appeal.''
