'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sousa Delighted With Winning Performance

Paulo Sousa was clearly delighted with his side's dominant performance in today's 3-0 home win against Scunthorpe United.

Swansea City have struggled for points recently as we found it difficult to cope during a busy March in which we played 7 matches.

That dip in form has seen us our competitors below us close the gap but it was vital today that we got back to winning ways with an excellent performance.

Sousa said:

'The best way to bounce back is with a win,''

'I was very happy with the performance.

'It was full of intensity, quality and good decisions. We created 17 chances, 10 of which were clear chances, and we scored three good goals.

'We took the decision to go a bit more direct today because of the high line Scunthorpe play - and it worked.

'I made a number of changes to the team, but I never saw it as a gamble, and never will. I have full confidence in all my squad.

'It is difficult to keep a high standard throughout a season so that is why the squad is so important.

'With all respect to our opponents we will concentrate only on ourselves and will try and win every game which we are certainly capable of doing because we have a winning mentality.

'I have the belief and confidence in my players because they have quality, talent and spirit.

'As I've said before, it's a pleasure to work with these players - they are fantastic.''

A noticable difference today--we pressed higher up the pitch as a team and played through them more. We can do this, we have the players to hurt any team. More of this please Mr Sousa.
