'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sousa: We Dominated And Deserved To Win

Paulo Sousa believed his side should have beaten Cardiff City yesterday, but instead they lost 2-1 after Chopra's injury-time winner.

The Bluebirds were the stronger side at the start but we managed to cope with the early pressure. We began to get more possession and just before the half-hour mark we opened the scoring thanks to Orlandi's goal direct from a corner.

For the remaining 16 minutes of the half it seemed that we tried to just maintain possession and go into half time with a 1-goal lead, but Chopra equalised from close range to put the sides level again going into the break.

The game looked like heading for a deserved 1-1 draw after a tightly-fought contest, but Chopra got his brace in injury time, as he was unmarked at the back post to thrash the ball in from close range.

Sousa said:

'When you dominate completely the game, when you get more and better chances than them defeat is difficult,'

'But football it's that, we need to turn this moment, not an easy moment... we deserved to win this game.

'We have a lot of games until the end of the season, to keep the position we have now (in the play-offs).'

Swansea City really need a home win on Monday now to keep their play-off hopes alive, as Blackpool close in to reduce the gap to just 2 points.

he's gotta stop saying we deserved to win, we didn't score enough again, it's as simple as that, our goal was just luck other than Kuqi in the last minute we didn't look like scoring

Absolutely spot-on cyjax. We don't create enough chances, the stats always show that goals are scored about 1 in 3 chances. We created about 2 yesterday, not enough. Monday's game is vital now-- we have to win.
Philto
Must win Mon hope he doesn't pick Pintado again SHOCKING

Pintado was very poor, as was Dyer. Cotterill needs to play more, and in my opinion so does Trundle, it's time like these that you need a bit of skill in and around the oppositions box.

i can remember 2 decent chances we had at 1-1. we dont have finishers at this club who can take their chances. the argument with trundle - he can't finish like he used to, he too misses a lot of good chances. but we should use him more in the last 15/20 mins
