Beattie: The Last Few Months Have Been Frustrating

Craig Beattie says the last few months have been frustrating for him as he has been sidelined with a toe injury.

The Scottish striker will be hoping to start against his former club tomorrow as second-placed West Brom visit the Liberty Stadium.

Beattie made a return away at Watford last week and he also started on Saturday during a disappointing 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, but he was replaced at half time by Shefki Kuqi.

The 26 year-old has hardly kicked a ball in 2010 because of injuries but he'll hoping he can get a good run in the first team as we go into the vital part of our season.

'The last couple of months have been really frustrating for me,'

'I got off to a good start when I moved from West Brom, which made it even more frustrating when I had to sit it out on the sidelines.

'But that's football for you. It has a habit of kicking you in the teeth.

'The boys have done really well without me though. I was pleased about that because they are a good bunch here. They made it really easy for me to fit in when I first arrived.'

Beattie scored the winner for Swansea City in the away game at the Hawthorns against his former club, and he said there are no hard feelings between them following his decision to leave the Baggies.

He added:

'There was no animosity when I left and I wished them all of the best for the rest of the season,' he recalled.

'I wasn't playing for West Brom as often as I would have liked, so the reason I joined the Swans was for footballing reasons. I was still sad at leaving West Brom though.

'They were always going to be one of the favourites to go back up this season. They have a strong squad with quality players.'
