Sousa: 'We Lacked That Spark'

Ashley Williams said manager Paulo Sousa thought his side lacked that spark during yesterday's disappointing goalless draw at home against Sheffield Wednesday.

Swansea City were looking to close the gap on the teams above them as an automatic place is still within our reach, but we dropped two points following a dull game at the Liberty Stadium.

We face a tough match at home on Tuesday night as we host 2nd placed West Brom, and we'll need a big improvement if we want 3 points from that game.

Williams said:

'The gaffer said after the game we lacked a little bit of that spark and I think we did as well. So we'll have to address that.'

'We're enjoying it. How can you not enjoy being in this position? I think we're just trying to enjoy each game and trying to put a side out to win each game.

'They're second, we're fourth and we want to win to try and catch them up and to secure our play-off place a bit more and I'm sure they want to win.

'But we're at home, which is a bonus for us.

'We don't have to beat them to finish second, but it definitely helps and if we don't beat them it will be a lot harder for us.

'We're as excited as the fans. It's a brilliant time for Swansea City and to be involved with us and I'm sure the West Brom boys are the same - we are each going to get up for the next game.'
